Many of pc owners are not aware of what's happening inside of their computers. Usually, when they purchased a set of computer, they didn't know that cables inside where garbled or messed up. This is due to urgency of assembly which leads to this kind of arrangement problem, as well as most of the computer shops are too busy to keep their assembly nice and clean. As long as the computer works, they leave the unit to be like that.
In this article, you may find below some pictures which will give you an idea how to make the inside of your computer nice, neat and well ventilated. This will give good ventilation in avoidance to heat problems. It will be more applicable for those who are planning to assemble their own mini-casing or even SFF based PC.
Please take a look at the following pictures showing the recommended arrangement of cables inside a computer.
Folding your ide and floppy cables as show above will not block the air intake of your cpu.
Keeping the cables tied up with cable ties will be a nice idea to give way of air to circulate inside the computer.
If you're a computer enthusiast, then you probably have to install additional fan inside your computer. Maybe 1 for your cpu & 1 for your case. That's probably a gross estimation for a standard PC setup.
You may add also an extra 80mm case fan to get the air intake in full force.
Keeping good cable arrangement will get more air intake to ventilate all the spare parts inside the cpu. Thus, your pc's durability will extend for long time. Practicing this arrangement will be a good factor especially when you are planning to assemble a SFF pc. Besides, SATA drives are well introduced nowadays with a small red cable, probably that is one of the main concern of introducing this SATA cables, to enable you to arrange freely of your drives inside a SFF casing. In that case, you may not even need of this article. On the other hand, if you are a low budget pc assembler or still using an ordinary ide cable, this article fits you well.
